Blog commenting can be very effective for not only building links to your site, but driving actual traffic through those links.  The key is to say something useful and not just spam hundreds of blogs with the same useless comment.  If the article, or blog post, is about how to play aces before the flop, don’t leave a comment like, ”Good article.  I learned a lot”, with a link back to your rakeback site.  Write a few sentences or a paragraph adding to, or disputing, the article.  Make real conversation.  This is what webmasters want and this is what will get your comments and links posted.

One of the other benefits of leaving an actual intelligent comment is that people will want to follow your link to find out more about you and your opinions.  If you add quality insight to a blog post it lends credibility to yourself, your link, and your rakeback site.  Adding blog commenting to your arsenal will also continue to vary your linking strategy and build a more diverse link profile.  As discussed earlier, this is important.

For blog commenting I use a tool called BlogCommentDemon.  This tool allows you to seek out blogs that do not have nofollow attributes attached to their outgoing links and helps you make the most of your blog commenting.  There is more information on this tool in the “Tools and Services” section of this website.  Do not abuse this tool.
