Without Elance, I literally could not run my business. This is the freelance marketplace where I hire all of my content writers, rewriters, designers, developers, and anyone else that I need to hire.

There are thousands of freelancers on Elance and many of them will do outstanding work for you for a very fair price tag. I generally pay between $5 and $10 per unique article and have gotten good content for as low as $1 per 500 word article. I pay rewriters ~$2 per rewrite of each article.

The trick to successful outsourcing is, once you find a few writers that do good work at a price that you can live with, you need to keep them busy. You will always need content and having a stock pile of good content is always a good thing. I often have a backlog of 300+ articles waiting to be published.

Make sure that you always ask for samples from your writers and start them off with small jobs. Post your first job and hire 5 freelancers to do the job. Then you can continue to work with your favorite 1 or two and begin to build a stable of good freelance writers.

It should also be noted that there are other great freelance sites out there.  It is always good to belong to a few as you will get a much larger pool of freelancers to choose from.  Two notable sites are oDesk and Freelancer.
